Spotlight Client Background: In 2009 Artesia General hospital, community hospital located in Artesia, NM, commissioned the services of Healthcare Art Consulting to select healing art for their newly renovated facility. Prior to Healthcare Art Consulting working with Artesia General Hospital, there was sparse if no artwork located throughout the 67,000 plus sq. foot healing environment.

Healthcare Art Consulting was delighted to work with Artesia General Hospital and realized the opportunity to help further Artesia General's mission to provide quality patient care to Southeastern New Mexico through effective and efficient services.

What was the prescription? Expert Art Consultant and President of Healthcare Art Consulting Sara Beth Joyner selected a wide variety of soothing and healing nature images for Artesia General's patient rooms, main corridors, lobbies, waiting rooms, physical examination rooms and administrative areas.

The key to Artesia General's project was to complete the project in three phases due to client cash flow and to realize the impact of healing art within the hospital for patients, staff and caregivers.
